With more fields per square-kilometre than anywhere else on the continent and a passionate fanbase, baseball thrives in the city. But the jewel in their crown is Honkbalweek Haarlem, a prestigious biannual international tournament that attracts star-studded teams from around the world. It’s a competition that has seen, since its inception in 1961, some of the game’s greats cut their teeth as youngsters - from Hank Aaron to Paul Skenes, via Trea Turner and Dustin Pedroia.
